Metal Adjustable Footrest
The surface of this footrest where you place your feet is surfaced with
an extremely abrasive, sandpaper-like sticker. It's probably very
durable and it does keep your feet from sliding off, but it will destroy
your shoes if you allow the back or sides of your leather shoe to touch
the footrest, much like rubbing coarse sandpaper across them would.

Given that nobody's supposed to stand on this, the manufacturer seems to
have chosen the wrong surface - any kind of rubber or carpet would have
been better. As it is, I'm going to have to find some matting or carpet
that I can attach to this rest so it doesn't destroy all of my
footwear.
